Só tenho a agradecer a Paulo Sergio Vargas Werneck, pela carta que ele mandou a respeito da questão dos médicos cubanos (ver post abaixo). Com certeza, um plano de carreira para os profissionais do SUS, tal como ele descreve, seria o ideal.
Não concordo, todavia, com a ideia de que as manifestações contra os recém-chegados sejam expressão de uma defesa da ética profissional. “O Código de Ética Médica”, diz Werneck, “proíbe textualmente o lucro sobre o trabalho do médico”. O governo cubano, prossegue, é quem sai ganhando com essa exportação de serviços, e a repulsa à chegada dos médicos aqui se justificaria, portanto, pelo fato de que eles servem para dar lucros ao governo.
Acho que é um problema entre os médicos cubanos e o seu governo. Os cubanos estariam agindo de forma anti-ética ao serem explorados por Raúl Castro? Ou o código de ética é um instrumento de defesa dos profissionais quando alguém pretende explorá-los?
Se se trata de instrumento de defesa, por que não acolher os cubanos e conscientizá-los do fato de que estão sendo explorados? Ao contrário, eles é que foram tratados como mercenários, analfabetos ou coisa pior.
Vitimou-se a vítima. Se o governo Dilma está errado, se adiou o plano de carreira do SUS, pode-se protestar na frente do Ministério da Saúde. Protestar no aeroporto é que não é bonito.
